Job DescriptionWe are hiring for the position of Senior Site Engineer – Airside Pavements for multiple upcoming airport projects across Pan India. The Senior Site Engineer – Airside Pavements will be responsible for supervising and managing on-site construction activities related to airport airside pavement infrastructure. This includes runways, taxiways, aprons, shoulders, rapid exit taxiways, and associated pavement systems.
The role ensures that pavement construction works are executed in accordance with approved engineering designs, technical specifications, aviation standards, and project schedules. The Senior Site Engineer will coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors, and quality teams to ensure proper execution, quality assurance, and compliance with regulatory requirements for airside infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise day-to-day construction activities related to airport airside pavement works including runways, taxiways, and aprons.
Ensure execution of pavement layers such as subgrade preparation, sub-base, base course, and asphalt or concrete pavement works as per approved specifications.
Monitor pavement construction processes including compaction, grading, paving, and joint construction to ensure quality and durability.
Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and survey teams for layout, alignment, and level control during construction.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with aviation standards, project specifications, and quality requirements.
Review construction drawings, method statements, and material specifications prior to site execution.
Ensure proper testing and quality control activities including field density tests, material testing, and pavement performance checks.
Monitor progress of works and ensure activities are completed as per project schedules and milestones.
Maintain site documentation including progress reports, inspection records, and quality control documentation.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards at the construction site.
Support testing, commissioning, and handover of completed airside pavement infrastructure.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 10 years of experience in construction and supervision of pavement works for airports, highways, or large infrastructure projects.
Experience in flexible and rigid pavement construction, including asphalt and concrete pavements.
Strong understanding of pavement construction methodologies, quality control processes, and site management practices.
Familiarity with construction drawings, BOQs, and technical documentation.
Knowledge of construction safety standards and relevant engineering codes.
Proficiency in MS Office and project reporting tools.
Preferred Attributes
Experience working on airport airside infrastructure projects such as runways, taxiways, and apron pavements.
Familiarity with aviation standards and best practices for airfield pavement construction.
Strong coordination skills for working with contractors, survey teams, and quality control teams.
Ability to manage complex site conditions and ensure precision in pavement execution.
Strong focus on safety, quality, and timely project delivery.
