Receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer, performs a variety of full performance level technical security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces facility and security policies and regulations. Investigate reports of potential criminal conduct against Providence staff, visitors, staff, and property; respond and assist in restraining patients; detains individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provide protective services to high risk areas. May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organization in emergent situations in the local service area.

Required Qualifications:
- Upon request: Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information.
- 2 years of Law Enforcement/Security/Military experience, or related work experience in a healthcare setting, or relevant college coursework deemed important to the job AND 1 year experience working within a Providence security department and passage of the SO2 promotion test and oral board.
- 5 years OR for external candidates, at least 5 years Law Enforcement/Security/Military experience, or related work experience in a healthcare setting, or relevant college coursework AND passage of the Security Department SO2 promotion test and oral board within the first 6 months of employment.
Preferred qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, History, or English
