A day in the Life:
  • Responsible for the scientific and regulatory conduct of Molecular method development, validation, and troubleshooting in support of cell and gene therapy and biomarker studies involving novel therapeutics in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Manages scientific and technical communication to establish and maintain client relationships
  • Routinely performs laboratory experiments and acts as the technical project leader for multiple projects
  • Designs experiments, reviews and analyzes data, writes reports and protocols
  • Reviews data for technical quality and compliance to protocols, methods, and SOPs.
  • Allocates, schedules, and manages laboratory resources for group's project activities and updates project status.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes project activities with internal functional groups
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in lab sciences such as biology, biochemistry, immunology, chemistry, molecular biology or similar
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years’) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.
  • OR Masters degree and previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable 3+ years)
  • OR PhD
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledge of Immunochemistry-based bioanalysis related to cell and gene therapies.
  • Understanding and deep knowledge of ligand binding assay method development and validation using multiple platforms including qPCR, ddPCR, rt-qPCR
  • Experience with nucleic acid purification and quantification of biologics in various tissues
  • Validated leadership skills
  • Method Development and validation of molecular assays
  • Demonstrated knowledge of QA metrics of program base; ability to write and recommend changes to PPD SOPs
  • Ability to troubleshoot multiple systems/methodologies
  • Ability to independently optimize analytical methods
  • Understanding of proposal and project scope as it relates to pricing, resource management and the impact on business
  • Project and time management skills
  • Ability to train and mentor junior staff
