We are seeking a broadly trained and highly skilled Senior Scientist (Hydrology) to join our growing and dynamic team. As a member of our research and development team, you will lead field based hydrological research efforts as part of an interdisciplinary team to quantify benefits of enhanced rock weathering. Your expertise will be crucial in developing and implementing field and modeling strategies to support our mission of mitigating climate change. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a passion for scientific problem solving, and the ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
Lead and design hydrologic field data collection and experiments at our deployments sites across Brazil, including collection, analysis, and interpretation.
Apply hydrologic modeling tools to simulate water systems
Lead efforts to quantify and characterize hydrological processes across spatial scales, from the movement of water in unsaturated soil to the watershed and regional scale.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (e.g., geochemists, engineers, data scientists, environmental scientists) to integrate hydrological insights into broader projects.
Contribute to the development of innovative technologies and solutions to monitor and quantify the net climate impact of enhanced rock weathering.
Present research findings at scientific conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
Project management and team supervision
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience (5+ years) in conducting hydrological field research.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using hydrologic software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel and work at field sites across Brazil.
English language proficiency

What We Do
Over millions of years, silicate rock weathering has regulated Earth’s climate. By crushing silicate rocks and spreading them on agricultural soils - an approach called Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) - we can accelerate Earth’s natural process into a solution capable of addressing the urgency of climate change.
