Experience
10+ years serving in a construction operations role with direct responsibility for developing, managing, and auditing complex construction schedules across multiple projects and markets, including significant experience as a Senior Scheduler on K-12 educational construction projects.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
Summary
The Senior Construction Scheduler serves as a subject matter expert and leader for all scheduling efforts at Pogue Construction. This role is responsible for the overall scheduling strategy, oversight of major and complex projects—including K-12 educational facilities—mentorship of schedulers and project teams, and continuous improvement of company scheduling standards. The Senior Scheduler partners closely with executive leadership, preconstruction, and field operations to ensure schedules are realistic, defensible, and used as a core management and accountability tool.
Primary Responsibilities
- Proficient in plan reading
- Ability to build a schedule using a set of plans with minimal support
- Provide enterprise-level ownership and oversight of construction scheduling across all assigned projects
- Develop and approve baseline schedules for pursuits, preconstruction, and active projects
- Lead scheduling efforts on Pogue's largest, most complex, or highest-risk projects, including K-12 school construction and renovation programs
- Serve as the primary scheduling advisor to executive leadership and field leadership
- Review, audit, and validate project schedules prepared by schedulers and project teams
- Establish and maintain company-wide scheduling standards, templates, and best practices
- Identify project schedule risks and lead impact analysis, recovery planning, and mitigation strategies
- Participate in preconstruction meetings with major subcontractors to validate scopes, durations, and sequencing
- Ensure schedules align with contract requirements, phasing plans, and owner expectations, including district-specific milestones such as substantial completion before the start of the school year
- Guide project teams in tracking delays, critical path changes, and recovery actions
- Oversee development of short-term schedules including pull plans and 3-week look-aheads
- Lead preparation and review of fragment schedules and time impact analyses for claims or extension requests
- Provide clear, concise schedule reporting to executive leadership, including critical path and trend analysis
- Mentor and train schedulers, project managers, superintendents, and engineers on scheduling best practices
- Lead post-project schedule reviews and implement lessons learned into future planning
- Partner with leadership on long-term scheduling strategy, staffing needs, and technology improvements
- Uphold and advance Pogue procedures, values, and processes

Required Skills / Expectations
- Minimum of [X] years of experience as a Senior Scheduler on K-12 educational construction projects
- Expert-level knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling
- Deep understanding of construction sequencing across all major trades
- Familiarity with K-12 construction constraints, including occupied campus phasing, summer shutdown schedules, and coordination with school district stakeholders
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project
- Strong ability to analyze complex data and communicate schedule impacts clearly
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proven leadership, mentorship, and collaboration skills
- High level of professionalism and composure under pressure
- Strong contract, plan, and specification comprehension

- Scheduling or Project Controls certifications preferred (e.g., PMI-SP, PSP, CCM)
