Overview:

As a Platform Admin & Developer, be responsible for all activities related to BODS and BoBJ

Responsibilities:

Platform Administration (BO & BODS)

• Installation & Configuration: Perform full installations, patching, updates, and configuration of SAP BusinessObjects (BI 4.x) and BODS (4.x) and 2025 platforms exclusively on Windows Server operating systems.
• Security & User Management: Manage users, groups, folders, and access levels using the Central Management Console (CMC) and Data Services Management Console.
• Repository & Server Management: Create and configure local, central, and secure BODS repositories. Configure Job Servers, Job Server groups, and load-balancing environments.
• Lifecycle Management: Handle content migrations, promotions, and deployments across Development, QA, and Production environments using Promotion Management/Lifecycle Manager.
• Monitoring & Backup: Proactively monitor system performance, server logs, audit logs, and system metrics. Define and validate failover, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
  

SAP BODS:

• Web Services Integration: Integrate external systems by generating and consuming both SOAP and REST Web Services natively through BODS. Configure Web Service Datastores and handle XML/JSON hierarchical data payloads. Configure iDOCs and extract data using iDOCs from SAP ECC
• Design and develop ETL jobs using SAP BODS to extract, transform, and load data from various sources (SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
• Implement delta loads, data cleansing, and transformation logic
• Advanced ETL Logic: Utilize scripts, local/global variables, custom functions, substitutions, and Change Data Capture (CDC) methods.
• Optimize dataflows for performance and scalability.Build robust recovery mechanisms, automated retry logic, and detailed system error tracking for automated batch jobs.
• Integrate with cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, AWS) as needed
• Monitor and troubleshoot ETL jobs and resolve data quality issues
• Proactively analyze existing ETL designs to identify inefficiencies or faulty logic and recommend improvements.
• Ensure high performance and reliability of dataflows through tuning and optimization techniques

SAP BOBJ:

• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Web Intelligence, Analysis for Office and Analysis Edition for OLAP
• Create and manage Universes using Information Design Tool (IDT)
• Work with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reports
• Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and other IT/Business teams
• Document technical specifications, data mappings, and job schedules
• Participate in code reviews and performance tuning
• Provide support for production issues and enhancements

Requirements:

• Must have bachelor's or equivalent degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience
• SAP BODS 4.x / BOBJ 4.x /2025
• SQL/Python
• Experienced in using ABAP flows from ERP/S4
• Experienced in working with SAP BW/HANA data models
• Should be open to work in US Time zone
