Job Responsibilities
The Senior Salesforce Engineer / Technical Lead provides advanced hands-on technical leadership for Salesforce platform delivery across Syneos Health’s Service Cloud, Health Cloud, REMS, Engagement Center, and related platform capabilities. This role leads the design, development, configuration, testing, and support of Salesforce solutions that are secure, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with Syneos enterprise architecture and regulated delivery standards.
The role serves as the day-to-day technical lead for Salesforce engineering work, partnering with architecture, business stakeholders, QA, validation, security, operations, and platform support teams. A key responsibility is helping establish sustainable internal Salesforce engineering practices, including technical standards, code review expectations, production support procedures, documentation practices, and knowledge continuity across the Salesforce platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead hands-on Salesforce engineering delivery across Service Cloud, Health Cloud, Experience Cloud, Field Service, Salesforce Voice, and related platform capabilities.
- Translate approved architecture and business requirements into technical designs, configuration, Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, integrations, and deployment-ready solutions.
- Serve as the day-to-day technical lead for internal Salesforce engineering activities.
- Perform code reviews and enforce standards for Apex, LWC, Flow, metadata configuration, test coverage, error handling, logging, and maintainability.
- Partner with the Salesforce architecture role to implement enterprise patterns for security, integration, data model design, environment strategy, and platform scalability.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex production defects, integration issues, deployment failures, and platform incidents.
- Provide technical guidance for Salesforce Voice, Amazon Connect, TP Interact, Hive CFM, Playvox, Commercial Data Lake integrations, and related ecosystem components where applicable.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, configuration guides, deployment notes, and knowledge continuity materials.
- Mentor Salesforce Engineer II resources and help establish internal engineering practices.
- Support regulated delivery processes, including release documentation, testing evidence, audit trail expectations, and GxP-aware change control.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 5 or more years of Salesforce engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flow, SOQL, SOSL, custom metadata, permission sets, validation rules, and Salesforce platform configuration.
- Experience with Service Cloud and/or Health Cloud.
- Experience leading code reviews, technical design discussions, and production issue resolution.
- Experience working with Salesforce integrations using REST APIs, platform events, middleware, named credentials, connected apps, or equivalent integration patterns.
- Familiarity with enterprise SDLC, DevOps, source control, and release governance.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with business, technology, platform support, vendor, and compliance stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Salesforce Platform Developer II certification.
- Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant or Health Cloud Accredited Professional.
- Experience with Salesforce Voice, Amazon Connect, Contact Lens, AWS Lambda, Amazon Lex, or contact center integrations.
- Experience in a GxP, healthcare, life sciences, pharmacovigilance, REMS, or regulated environment.
- Experience establishing internal engineering standards, documentation practices, and production support procedures.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, SFDX, Gearset, Copado, Flosum, or similar Salesforce DevOps tooling.
