The Sales Manager will be responsible for assessing business opportunities in Japan, with a special focus on new product introductions. Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Business Opportunity Assessment:

  • Generate and assess commercial opportunities within the assigned segment area, which can based on geography or customer type e.g. Utility or Private developers.

  • Maximize customer value and sales through high-added-value solutions within an appropriate level of risk.

New Product Introduction (NPI):

  • Support GE Vernova Wind Onshore business to gather market requirements and promote new products.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Manage all commercial aspects of customer relationships from Sales to Operations, including leading relationships with designated key accounts.

Solution Development:

  • Take new perspectives on existing solutions and use technical experience for data analysis to support recommendations.

  • Identify new partners to increase the competitiveness of GE Vernova’s products and services.

Strategy and Policy Development:

  • Develop specialized knowledge of the latest commercial developments in the renewable energy industry.

  • Contribute towards strategy and policy development and ensure business metric delivery within the area of responsibility.

Global Energy Solutions:

  • Interact with other GE Vernova businesses to structure global energy solutions for customers.

Executive Relationships:

  • Interface and communicate effectively with renewables C-suite executives to develop long-term relationships.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college.

  • Fluent in Japanese and English in speaking and writing

  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; integrative team working style

  • Good communication skills and confidence with customer presentations

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.

  • Established project management skills.

  • Self-starter with high energy, willingness to cold-call and network, and an ability to energize others.

  • Strong curiosity and desire to learn both technical and commercial expertise and to actively apply it to sales activities.

  • Has an open attitude and mindset toward involving other stakeholders and working as a team to win projects.

 Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based, willing to travel around 30% of the time within Japan.

  • Significant experience in onshore Wind sales, sales in the energy sector or technical sales.

Japan is a key country for GE Vernova, where we have been present for over 130 years. Today, we employ around 450 people and support approximately 50% of Japan’s heavy-duty gas turbine power generation capacity and 25% of its onshore wind capacity, contributing to a stable power supply through gas turbines, steam turbines, nuclear power, and wind turbines.
