The Opportunity:
We are seeking a talented Senior Sales Executive who will be responsible for sourcing new sales consulting engagements within credit unions and community banks with an emphasis on clients that are new to Velera’s consulting services. This will include selling both existing and new consulting services including credit and debit, payment networks, marketing, digital, retail banking, and other opportunities as the department expands services. The Senior Sales Executive will leverage their exentsive industry network to build a consulting pipeline and play a prominent role in Velera’s market presence at industry and client events.
Day in the Life:

Adept at leveraging a large personal network of existing relationships within the banking industry to identify new consulting opportunities.

Lead all sales initiatives for consulting business not limited to credit/debit, network, banking services, expanded business within the credit union and bank space.

Sourcing and selling consulting engagements with new clients.
-
Maintaining a healthy pipeline of prospective clients and their needs.
-
Identifying and selling additional engagements with existing consulting clients.
-
Have a deep knowledge of the community banking industry with an emphasis on payments including industry trends, client needs, and potential consulting solutions.

Representing Velera at roadshows, conferences and other industry events.

Cultivate relationships with internal partners such as Velera sales, Client Growth Executives, and Velera Consultants.

Identifies net new revenue opportunities within assigned territory and advance these new business opportunities.

Territory management is a must, being able to track thru Salesforce or other pipeline tools, stage of sales, close/won opportunities.

Full understanding of the addressable market and be able to close new business.

Orchestrates internal resources in support of new business efforts and activities. Facilitates strong working relationships within consulting, Velera Sales, Velera CGEs, SolCon, pricing, contracts and Consulting Execution Team.

Travels throughout territory, visits credit unions/banks, attends conferences and leagues, and other events as assigned. Travels up to 50-60% of time.

Provides market feedback/intel that advances a continuous learning loop regarding Velera to assist in positioning Velera well against competitors.

Actively support and embrace Velera core values of dedication, collaboration, belonging, curiosity and integrity.

Responsible for reporting risks that are identified to the appropriate team and/or management.

Additionally, responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting risks within the scope of your work area, to include, but not limited to information security risks.

Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Master’s Degree preferred.
-
15 years sales experience with track record of selling at least $1MM worth of services annually.

10 years sales experience in the financial services industry.
-
5 years experience in a consulting firm.
-
5 years experience in payments industry.
-
Ability to communicate effectively, and persuasively in verbal, written and presentation formats in dealing with a broad range of constituencies, including senior management, professional staff, industry leaders, clients, and prospects.

Ability to lead multiple projects, work in fast paced environment and meet deadlines.

Expert sales and networking knowledge with C-Suite executives in banking industry.

Ability to price and negotiate fixed and hourly rate consulting contracts.

Model high standards of confidentiality, discretion, ethics, independent judgement and insightful decision making in dealing with all levels of internal personnel, clients, potential business partners and vendors.

Microsoft office experience and power point a must.
