ROI Automotive has won an exciting new project, and we're looking for an exceptional salesperson to help make it a success.

The role is our evolution of the traditional Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) position: a Senior Sales Development Representative opportunity combining high-level prospecting with early-stage account management and the opportunity to influence how a brand-new project develops.

What will you be doing?

  • Take a strategic, insight-led approach to prospecting, identifying the organisations, sectors and decision-makers where the proposition has the strongest commercial fit.

  • Use the full range of tools available to you, including Cognism, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM data and wider market intelligence, to research prospects, understand their businesses and create highly targeted engagement plans.

  • Build and manage a high-quality pipeline of carefully selected opportunities, prioritising relevance, commercial potential and customer fit rather than relying on volume alone.

  • Research organisations before making contact, understanding their fleet requirements, operational challenges, working environments and commercial priorities so that every conversation has a clear purpose.

  • Use consultative selling techniques to uncover challenges and requirements that may not initially be obvious, helping prospects recognise where the proposition could solve a genuine business problem.

  • Create opportunities rather than simply respond to them – asking strong questions, challenging existing thinking and helping customers understand how a different vehicle solution could improve capability, resilience or operational performance.

  • Identify new sectors, use cases and customer profiles where the proposition could provide a compelling solution, using market insight to continually refine where and how you prospect.

  • Take ownership of opportunities beyond initial qualification, developing relationships with prospects and emerging accounts and ensuring momentum is maintained through the early stages of the customer journey.

  • Provide a level of day-to-day account support and client reporting, producing clear updates on activity, pipeline, opportunities, market feedback and performance, and confidently discussing these with ROI and client stakeholders.

  • Work closely with ROI management and external stakeholders to share customer insight, market intelligence, competitor activity and emerging opportunities, helping to continually improve the commercial approach.

  • Act as a self-starter and problem solver, identifying barriers to progress and proactively finding solutions rather than waiting for direction.

  • Maintain outstanding CRM discipline, ensuring every interaction, opportunity, next step and piece of customer intelligence is accurately recorded and used to inform future activity and reporting.

  • Represent both ROI and the client with the credibility, curiosity and professionalism required of a specialist automotive brand where the quality of the opportunity and conversation matters just as much as the quantity of activity.

What are we looking for?

We're not simply looking for somebody who can make calls.

We're looking for somebody who can think, challenge, solve and deliver.

You'll already have a strong track record within sales, business development or prospecting and be ready for greater responsibility.

You'll need to demonstrate:

A genuine hunter mentality

You create opportunities rather than wait for them. You're comfortable opening doors, challenging yourself and consistently pursuing new business.

Commercial curiosity

You want to understand the customer, the market and the opportunity – not simply work through a list.

Strategic thinking

You can look beyond today's activity target and think about where the next opportunity is coming from and how you're going to unlock it.

Problem solving

When something gets in the way, your first reaction is to work out how to overcome it.

Ownership

You're a self-starter who doesn't need to be continually prompted or directed. You take responsibility for your performance, pipeline and outcomes.

Relationship-building ability

You can move comfortably from prospecting into developing relationships and managing early-stage accounts.

High standards

Our client expects exceptional. So do we. You'll care about the quality of your conversations, your preparation, your CRM, your follow-up and the way you represent both businesses.

Why take on the challenge?

Build skills beyond prospecting

Gain experience across prospecting, opportunity development, account management, stakeholder engagement and commercial problem-solving.

Join something at the beginning

This is a newly won project, giving you the opportunity to help establish what great looks like rather than simply inheriting an existing way of working.

Represent an extraordinary automotive brand

Work on behalf of a business built around challenging convention, engineering capability and doing things differently.

Increase your exposure

You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across ROI and the client, giving strong performers the opportunity to demonstrate their capability beyond their existing role.

Accelerate your development

For somebody aspiring to progress into more senior sales or account management, this gives you the opportunity to start developing those skills now.

Built for more?

We are looking for someone who is ready to step beyond traditional prospecting and take on a role that demands greater commercial judgement, ownership and strategic thinking.

It is an opportunity to represent a distinctive automotive brand, help shape a newly won project and develop experience that reaches beyond a conventional SDR position.

If you are ready to raise your game, broaden your capability and show what you can deliver at a higher level, this could be the opportunity for you.

Skills Required

  • Strong track record in sales, business development, or prospecting
  • Experience creating new business opportunities through proactive prospecting
  • Consultative selling and relationship-building ability
  • Commercial curiosity and strategic thinking
  • Problem-solving ability and ownership of performance, pipeline, and outcomes
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently
  • High standards for customer conversations, preparation, CRM discipline, and follow-up
  • Ability to develop prospects and manage early-stage accounts
