Role Overview
As a Senior Sales Associate, you will play a key senior role within the Boutique, combining strong individual sales performance and client development with leadership by example to support Boutique performance, exceptional client experience and consistently high standards. You will be a visible and positive influence on the sales floor, setting the benchmark through your attitude, behaviours, energy, professionalism and execution of the Montblanc Retail Signature. As an experienced team member, you will help set the tone and actively contribute to a culture of positivity, collaboration, accountability, respect and high performance. As a lead brand ambassador for Montblanc, you are responsible for welcoming clients to the boutique, introducing them to the heritage of our Maison and ultimately setting an exemplary standard of customer experience and level of performance.
A key focus for the team is CRM activity and cultivating a loyal client-base for both the brand and boutique. It is vital that this individual is proactive about nurturing genuine customer relationships and developing a successful client book. Working within the boutique, KPIs & sales targets are of the utmost significance. Having the ability to work both individually and as a team will be of high importance when trying to achieve sales within a highly competitive retail environment. Key Responsibilities Sales, Clienteling and Client Experience: Build, maintain and proactively develop a personal portfolio of clients, using Clienteling and CRM tools to understand preferences, purchase history and opportunities for relevant follow-up, outreach and invitations. Actively drive sales performance to achieve individual sales targets while contributing to Boutique sales objectives, category priorities and set KPIs.
Deliver an exceptional and consistent client experience through the sound execution of Montblanc Retail Signature protocols and Maison service standards. Act with entrepreneurial spirit to identify sales and Clienteling opportunities, including targeted outreach, Boutique activations, events, referrals and VIP consultations. Drive new client acquisition and long-term client development through networking, referrals, Boutique activations and strong conversion of walk-in clients. Maintain high standards of CRM data capture, client follow-up and contact quality to support retention, reactivation and continued client engagement.
Commercial Performance and Boutique Standards: Take ownership of personal sales performance and contribute to achievement of Boutique sales targets, category objectives and key performance indicators. Remain commercially aware of Boutique KPIs and category performance, contributing insights and observations in morning briefings to identify trends, challenges and opportunities. Leverage experience and deep product knowledge to confidently support clients and colleagues throughout the purchase journey and maximise selling opportunities. Stay attuned to product launches, exclusives, seasonal and market trends and client preferences to maximise commercial and Clienteling opportunities. Support the Boutique Team in delivering superior after-sales service, including care, repairs, personalisation and special orders, reinforcing the Maison's service promise beyond the point of sale. Leadership, Attitude, Energy and Team Culture: Act as a senior role model within the Boutique, consistently demonstrating the attitude, behaviours, standards and professionalism expected of the Montblanc Maison.
Be a visible and positive presence on the sales floor, bringing strong energy, engagement and commercial focus and positively influencing the wider team through your own example. Support and motivate Sales Associates through day-to-day coaching, knowledge sharing and constructive feedback, helping colleagues strengthen sales, Clienteling, service and Boutique standards. Support the Boutique Manager and Supervisor in maintaining strong floor leadership during peak trade, VIP and corporate visits, Boutique events and other key business moments. Lead by example across sales performance, Client experience, Clienteling, Grooming, punctuality, teamwork and Boutique presentation, consistently reinforcing expected standards.
Actively contribute to a positive, high-performing Boutique culture through your attitude, behaviours and energy, consistently demonstrating optimism, accountability and respect and positively influencing the wider team. Collaborate openly with Boutique Management, sharing front-line insights and proactively raising behaviours, standards or issues that may impact client experience, team culture or Boutique performance. Boutique Operations: Support Boutique Management with day-to-day operations, including compliant opening and closing, cash handling, reconciliation and POS procedures. Support administrative duties and reporting and actively participate in inventory management, stocktakes and investigations. Maintain accurate inventory and stock handling, ensuring loss prevention, operational and compliance requirements are followed. Maintain Boutique presentation in line with Montblanc Visual Merchandising guidelines, supporting replenishment, maintenance and seasonal changes.
HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US
With an impressive development plan in place for the sales team joining us on this journey, we are looking for candidates that possess a hunger to learn, strong retail experience, a solid understanding of clienteling and an interest in writing instruments, leathergoods and timepieces. You will play an essential part in the smooth running of our boutique and seamless customer journey. With this responsibility in mind, you will need to have an authentic approach with clients and demonstrate strong communication skills. We are looking for individuals who are naturally proactive and take initiative. Often our boutiques are extremely busy environments, so having the ability to remain calm under pressure is key. It is vital that this individual has previous experience dealing with clients from an array of backgrounds and cultures, in order to support the boutique's internationally diverse customer base. The existing team would welcome a co-operative colleague, who contributes to all daily operations and additional projects. Skills Required
- Previous luxury retail or sales experience
- Proven ability to meet sales targets and KPIs
- Clienteling and CRM experience (building and maintaining client books)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
