Senior Business Data Analyst

As a Business Data Analyst, you will shape the development of governed business logic in the Risk & Finance domains at NN Bank. Based in The Hague, you will work with a small, high-impact team to standardise and centralise regulatory reporting and capital requirements calculators. This role combines strong business insight with the ability to write production-grade code. In doing so, you will help NN take essential steps towards becoming a fully data-driven A-IRB bank.

What you are going to do

You will develop, test and implement governed calculators in our Model Factory platform. Your work directly improves NN Bank’s risk control, regulatory compliance and capital efficiency. You will:

• Translate business requirements into tested and documented logic using PySpark on Azure Databricks
• Develop and maintain calculators (e.g. Definition of Default, RWA, collateral indexation) in line with governance standards
• Collaborate with data and infrastructure teams to ensure high-quality, reusable and transparent implementations
• Support end-users, validators and auditors by explaining logic, outcomes and usage conditions
• Take initiative in shaping best practices, documentation and quality standards for a newly formed team

Who you are

You are a professional who combines analytical depth with a strong understanding of the business context. You enjoy building from scratch and thrive in environments where you help shape the way forward. You also have:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Information Systems or a quantitative field
• At least 5 years of experience in coding with PySpark on Azure Databricks, using Git workflows
• Specific experience with Definition of Default or similar risk calculator logic in a banking context
• Familiarity with regulatory expectations in the Risk & Finance domain
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines

Who you will work with

You will join the Model Factory team in the Data Management Office, within the CRO domain of NN Bank. This newly formed team focuses on standardising risk and finance logic across the bank. The team will consist of three people working closely with platform operations, infrastructure and data sourcing teams. It is a setting where the lines of communication are short, people are approachable and help is always nearby.
