Te tūranga – The role

As a Senior Risk Advisor, you'll bring a strong risk lens to strategic initiatives, operational activities and major programmes across our Money Group. Working closely with leaders, project teams, and our Risk, Compliance and Audit Directorate, you'll help strengthen risk management practices, support effective governance, and ensure risks are understood and managed in a way that enables delivery and innovation.

This is a varied and influential role where you'll lead risk reviews, develop reporting for senior stakeholders, provide trusted advice on risk and controls, and help foster a risk-aware culture across the group.

This is a Fixed Term position, until June 2027.

Ō pūkenga – About you

To be successful in this role, you'll be an experienced risk professional who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes.

  • Demonstrated technical expertise in risk management developed through at least 7 years of second line risk experience (or similar).

  • Well developed analytical capability, to be able to distil key themes and perspectives for a range of audiences.

  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and ability to take best practice and develop fit for purpose organisational frameworks.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills to be able to influence effectively and build credibility.

  • Sound judgement and the ability to think holistically across a broad range of issues.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of NZ National Security Clearance as needed.
