We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially minded Senior Revenue & Systems Accountant to join our Group Financial Control team. Reporting to the Senior Manager Revenue Accounting, this role is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant revenue accounting outcomes across Jetstar Branded Airlines (JBAs) in Australia and New Zealand.
This role leads the delivery of revenue accounting outcomes for interline and codeshare arrangements. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, supporting business growth through system enhancements, process automation, and the successful delivery of revenue-related projects, ensuring financial integrity and operational efficiency.
The core responsibilities of this role are:
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly financial results for all JBAs, ensuring outcomes reflect commercial arrangements and comply with external reporting requirements.
- Oversee interline and codeshare revenue reconciliations, including related intercompany transactions.
- Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations, proactively investigating and resolving aged reconciling items and performing detailed variance analysis.
- Continuously evaluate and challenge existing processes, identifying opportunities for automation and simplification and implementing solutions to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Minimum 5 years' post-qualification accounting experience.
- CA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification (or currently working towards completion).
- Experience working within large, complex organisations with multiple stakeholders, products, and reporting requirements.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, internal controls, and revenue accounting principles.
- Proven ability to manage, analyse, and interpret large and complex datasets.
- Demonstrated experience in systems implementation and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Strong understanding of accounting process flows and systems.
