Working as a part of a high-performance international revenue accounting team, the mission of this role is to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition reporting, while continuously striving for improvement and efficiencies. This position includes an in-depth understanding of revenue recognition guidelines and policies, and accurate application of them to the Company’s business transactions. The position will report to the US Revenue Controller and will have the following responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Review revenue deals to ensure revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP ASC606
- Manage a portfolio of customers working with sales and services teams on reviewing quarterly forecast.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Quarter end close activities to document quarterly revenue in accordance with SOX compliance.
- Detailed preparation and analysis of Balance Sheet accounts
- Review customer legal contracts for revenue impacting terms.
- Ensure completeness of all audit documentation
- Efficient reporting
- Identifying and supporting the implementation of ongoing systems developments
- Assisting with ad-hoc process improvement projects, as required
The successful candidate will have solid accounting experience with a demonstrated track record of success working in operations for a highly regarded organization. Qualifications should include:
- Qualified accountant with 8+ years’ experience in accounting, audit, and financial management, with 3 years from Big 4 or multinational experience preferred.
- CPA preferred but not required
- Revenue recognition experience (ASC606) required.
- SSP knowledge and analysis experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Oracle (or other fully integrated ERP system) and RevPro are a plus; advanced skills in Excel are required.
- A proactive, self-directed approach and the ability to learn quickly with a drive for continuous improvement.
- A high sense of urgency and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to put emphasis on attention to detail.
- Flexibility as we continue to evolve processes and job responsibilities.
- Ability to effectively analyse and prioritize information and tasks.
- Prior telecom or technology industry experience preferred.
