WHAT YOU'LL DO
This role is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team at a leading and growing advertising technology company operating in a fast-paced industry. This role would be heavily involved in certain aspects of revenue recognition and the financial close process. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager, Revenue and will be responsible for ensuring that revenue is properly coded and recognized in accordance with GAAP. This position will be responsible for day-to-day accounting functions such as preparing and recording journal entries, reconciling accounts, performing flux analyses, coordinating with other teams, and assisting with various projects. This role is ideal for a hard-working, motivated, and ambitious professional who is eager to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
THE DAY-TO-DAY
- Perform month-end revenue journal entries
- Update and maintain revenue schedules and assist in evaluating revenue agreements to ensure revenue is recognized in the proper periods and in accordance with US GAAP (ASC 606)
- Work with billing and operations teams on customer adjustments, as needed
- Work cross-functionally with other teams to ensure revenue is accurately recorded
- Proactively identify areas for improvement within the revenue recognition process and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes
- Prepare support for internal and external auditors
- Maintain appropriate internal controls over revenue transaction processing and reporting
- Work directly with customers to provide supplemental revenue reporting detail, as requested
- Assist with ad-hoc special projects
GREAT TO HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of relevant Accounting experience
- CPA preferred
- Big 4 or regional Accounting firm experience preferred
- A self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks while being a collaborative team player
- Strong drive for continuous improvement, both professionally and within processes to develop and implement improvements and efficiencies
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create formulas & schedules using pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.
