: Senior Revenue Accountant

Reports to: CFO

This is an exciting new position with us!


We are seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant with deep technical mastery of NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) or equivalent. In this role, you will manage the complex revenue lifecycle for our high-value Canadian Federal Government accounts. You will be responsible for ensuring that multi-element arrangements—spanning hardware delivery, software licensing, and milestone-based professional services—are accurately recognized in compliance with ASC 606 / ASPE 3400.


Key Responsibilities:

  • NetSuite ARM Automation: Own the end-to-end ARM workflow. Configure revenue recognition rules, templates, and triggers to automate the transition from Sales Order to Revenue Arrangement and Revenue Plan. Oracle NetSuite
  • Multi-Element Allocations: Manage complex transaction price allocations across hardware, software, and services. Maintain Fair Value Price Lists and formulas to ensure accurate "carve-outs" for bundled government contracts.
  • Government Contract Review: Analyze federal procurement contracts to identify distinct Performance Obligations (POs). Determine appropriate recognition timing (point-in-time for hardware vs. over-time for services/SaaS).
  • Professional Services Oversight: Track project-based revenue for solution implementations. Use NetSuite to manage revenue recognition based on milestones or percentage of completion.
  • Month-End & Reconciliations: Lead revenue-related close activities, including deferred revenue reconciliations, unbilled AR analysis, and contract asset/liability management.
  • Compliance & Audit: Ensure all revenue treatment adheres to ASC 606 / ASPE 3400 standards. Provide system-generated audit trails for annual reviews and potential government-specific audits.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation (active or in-progress) is highly preferred.
  • Direct ARM Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience specifically with the NetSuite ARM module or equivalent.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in an IT Reseller or VAR (Value-Added Reseller) environment, handling the specific nuances of hardware shipping vs. service delivery.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Strong understanding of ASC 606 and ASPE 3400 revenue standards. Familiarity with Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS) or Federal contracting rules is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency for data validation and reporting between NetSuite and external project tracking tools.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with NetSuite SuiteBilling or Project Accounting modules.
  • Prior experience dealing with Shared Services Canada (SSC) or Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) billing requirements.
  • Prior knowledge of government procurement vehicles is a significant asset for supporting federal accounts.
