The name "Apollo" was inspired by the achievements of one of its founding investors, Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon in 1969. Together with Jim Hays, Neil identified an opportunity to create a unique service provider within Lloyd’s.

Your Role:
Reporting to a senior Reserving Actuary within the Reserving team, assist in providing actuarial support to the business including delivery of regular reserving for the syndicates under management.
Contribute to the maintenance and development of the existing SQL/Excel/VBA based suite of reserving tools.
Assist in ensuring that the feedback loop between Reserving, Capital, Pricing and Portfolio Management, as well as other areas of the business is working effectively and efficiently including Claims, Underwriting and Finance.
What you’ll do:
- Assist in the quarterly reserving process. This includes estimating ultimate claims and premiums and the earned / unearned equivalents on a UK GAAP basis.
- Assist in the processing of data, performing data checks and management of data through the quarterly reserving process.
- Assist in the undertaking of reserving deep dives into specific areas of interest in the portfolio
- Assist in the maintenance and development of the in-house SQL/Excel/VBA reserving tools.
- Assist in the Solvency II Technical Provisions, US Trust Fund calculations and other regulatory deliverables.
- Assist in the development of management information and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist, where appropriate, in the analysis of new lines of business
What we are looking for:
- 1st class or Upper 2nd class degree in a numerate subject
- Experience in reserving, preferably London Market
- Progress towards a professional Actuarial qualification.
- Excellent IT skills e.g. Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as VBA, SQL, Python is highly desirable.
- Creative with the ability to solve problems.
- Process efficiency & automation.
- Good work ethic.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and oral communication.
