The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigeria Nationals for the position below at the Institute’s headquarter in Ibadan.
Position: Senior Research Support Officer
Duration: 6 months’ renewable Location: Ibadan
DUTIES:
- Develop and test research instruments, including questionnaires, interview guides, and data collection templates. Also participate in field data collection.
- Collect, enter, clean, code, and manage quantitative and qualitative data while ensuring data security and confidentiality at all times.
- Conduct literature searches and reviews relevant to the study. Summarize research findings from academic and grey literature.
- Support quantitative and qualitative data analysis and report writing using appropriate software and methods. It will include tables, charts, preparation and summaries of research findings.
- Prepare activity reports and documentation of research processes.
- Perform other research-related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION:
BSc/HND in Agriculture, Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related field performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.
COMPETENCIES:
The ideal candidate must have:
- Experience in research, survey implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and data collection.
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, with experience using data analysis tools such as SPSS, STATA, R, KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO, or ODK being an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
