The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian nationals for the position below at the Institute’s Headquarters in Ibadan.
Position: Auto Air-conditioning Supervisor
Contract: 3-years renewable contract
Location: Ibadan
Closing Date: 29 July, 2026
DUTIES:
- Carry out and oversee vehicle air conditioning diagnostics, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs to ensure optimal system performance and compliance with workshop standards.
- Carry out complex vehicle air conditioning repairs while providing technical guidance and support to workshop staff as required.
- Coordinate and participate in the inspection, servicing, testing, and commissioning of vehicle air conditioning systems, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety procedures.
- Monitor the condition and performance of vehicle air conditioning systems, recommend preventive maintenance actions, and ensure timely completion of assigned jobs.
- Maintain workshop tools, equipment, and work areas, in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition, while ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.
- Prepare and maintain accurate maintenance records, repair reports, and documentation of completed work.
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
QUALIFICATION:
BSc/HND in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment. Possession of accredited professional certification(s) in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage.

- Demonstrated proficiency in automotive air conditioning diagnostics, maintenance, prognostics, and fault identification.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision while managing tasks efficiently and meeting deadlines.
- Willingness and ability to learn, adapt, and embrace new technologies, processes, and best practices.
