Sr. Research Scientist – Deploy chemistry and biochemistry expertise to design innovative, differentiated, ingredient solutions that deliver Health and Wellness strategy. In partnership with Commercial, Applications, Nutrition Sciences, Regulatory, and Analytical Chemistry, deliver New Products that are designed to provide a wellness benefit to the consumer, and that are well characterized, and functional, to our customers; Design innovative, differentiated, ingredient solutions that deliver the Health and Wellness strategy in partnership with Commercial, Applications, Nutrition Sciences, Regulatory, and Analytical Chemistry Teams; Plan and execute laboratory work to design ingredients, supervision & mentoring of junior scientists & technicians. Collaborate with internal and external resources to advance technical product development, through scale-up activities and to provide technical expertise to support existing business in relevant areas; Critical evaluation of cutting-edge technology in relevant fields to determine technical fit and ability to leverage these for Health and Wellness New Product Development (NPD); Lead product development projects, driving collaboration with the cross-functional, multi-disciplinary project teams with engineering, analytical, food applications, nutrition, product design and other technical personnel; Engage with regulatory, legal, commercial and other non-technical personnel to ensure projects proceed in accordance with internal processes & metrics and may be responsible for delivery of the project through the commercial launch.

 

Requirements – Master’s or foreign degree equivalent Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or a related field and three years of experience in the job offered or in technology development. Special skills - Experience in project management; industrial new product development from concept to commercial production; business/commercial experience to support on product portfolio and innovation pipeline build; Ingredient design or solution or creation of complex food ingredients systems.
