The Senior Research Associate is responsible for performing antibody conjugation to various labels and subsequent purification using established protocols, in alignment with budget constraints and customer demand. 

This position reports to the Team Leader and is part of the Conjugation Development Platform Team within Research and Development, located in Cambridge, UK and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform antibody conjugations using advanced technologies and assess product quality pre- and post-conjugation using analytical techniques such as HPLC, FPLC (AKTA), and spectroscopy.
  • Maintain accurate records of experimental data using Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), laboratory notebooks, and Oracle ERP, ensuring adherence to SOPs and ISO9001:2015 standards.
  • Contribute to process improvements and SOP development for novel technologies, supporting cross-functional teams and ensuring effective communication across R&D and downstream operations.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related discipline and 1-2 years of industry experience
  • Strong knowledge and practical laboratory experience in at least one of these areas:
  • Technical principles, literature, and methodologies in conjugation chemistry.
  • Protein purification techniques.
  • Quality control methods such as ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot (WB), and imaging applications (flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry).
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a passion for working in the lab environment. Demonstrates a flexible mindset and ability to adapt to shifting priorities and customer demands.
