Our Senior Research Analyst will support the Silicon Valley Region using data from JLL and other sources to analyse market conditions and effectively tell the commercial real estate story to our brokers, investors, and other clients. Your responsibilities will be to track (with the help of our centralized data hub) and analyze the Silicon Valley and Mid-Peninsula commercial real estate market with a focus on trend analysis, market presentation, strategic business development support and research content creation. You will serve as an active member of a sales enablement team to contribute to strategic business development efforts. You will work closely with external research colleagues, brokerage professionals and clients in the local market, as well as with research colleagues throughout the nation within JLL’s Americas Research group

What this job involves:

  • Closely monitor the Silicon Valley office and industrial (other options here could be: Life Sciences/Technology/Capital Markets) commercial real estate market, including data related to properties, leases, tenants, availabilities, developments, sales and owners.

  • Become an expert on the local economy, job and industry makeup, demographics and local market company growth, among other aspects of the market so that you can tell a compelling story about the local market.

  • Communicate data excellence and insights via traditional reporting products and the use of advanced data visualization tools, including JLL’s new and proprietary technology.

  • Present commercial real estate trends to the JLL brokerage team as well as to tenants and invenstors.

  • Actively contribute to JLL’s internal data management system and adopt or discover new creative uses for its content and visualization tools

  • Publish quarterly market reports on office, technology and life sciences product in the Silicon Valley and Mid-Peninsula market

  • Partner with brokerage leaders to contribute to business development efforts and grow the business

  • Contribute to client presentations by covering market intelligence, trends, and statistics. This includes performing statisctical analysis on prevaling supply and demand conditions to understand pricing segmentation by building and submarket.

  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external clients and facilitate the use of research as a differentiator including being personally client facing and externally focused on new business efforts

  • Keep track and inform brokerage leaders of local and national commercial real estate news

  • Regularly update current tenant information for essential properties in the market

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and 3+ years professional experience desired, can be in economics, consulting, real estate, economic development, urban planning or other related fields

  • Demonstrated passion in real estate with a strong commitment to learning micro- and macro-level market dynamics

  • Excellent Excel skills with python skills a bonus

  • Strong quantitative skillset with ability to identify new insights and trends through data analytics

  • Collaborative attitude and willingness to both work independently and as part of a dynamic team

  • Organized and proactive approach

  • Ability to multitask, be resilient and effectively manage time and workload

  • Effective written and oral communication skills

  • A desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment.

Estimated compensation for this position:

97,000.00 – 120,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
