You’ll manage customer accounts, build new customer relationships, and deliver a seamless customer experience. You’ll also connect with industry stakeholders to identify opportunities and contribute to business growth through proactive relationship management.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in both collaborative and autonomous environments and builds on others ideas, turning customer interactions into insights and opportunities – someone who’s a strong communicator and active listener and can engage Indigenous Nations, Economic Development Corporations, and industry stakeholders.

If you’re interested in working in an evolving sales environment where you create value in every interaction, this role could be a great fit.

What you’ll do

  • Build long-term, trusted relationships with Indigenous customers, communities, organizations, business stakeholders and partners

  • Support relationship management by identifying customer needs and contributing to tailored solutions

  • Act as a trusted point of contact for customers and communities, identifying opportunities to support community and business goals through respectful, relationship-focused financing conversations

  • Deliver a strong customer experience by managing requests efficiently and adding value in each interaction

  • Travel across the assigned territory to meet with customers, communities and partners in person, including in community and on-reserve settings as required

  • Review and analyze business proposals, loan applications, and customer financial information

  • Advise customers on borrowing solutions, including structure, conditions and security requirements

  • Monitor customer accounts through regular reviews, compliance monitoring, and performance tracking

  • Develop referral networks and relationships with industry leaders, financial institutions, and government agencies

What you’ll bring to the team

Required qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum five years of related commercial lending experience, (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)

  • Solid knowledge of commercial lending practices, loan portfolio management, and credit risk analysis

  • Demonstrated understanding of corporate structures and financial analysis

  • Strong sales, negotiation, decision-making and relationship management skills

  • Ability to manage challenging negotiations and build long-term business relationships

  • Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous history, knowledge systems, cultures and traditions, with the ability to apply this understanding in relationship-focused customer and community interactions

Preferred qualifications:

  • Extensive experience working with Indigenous communities, organizations or businesses

  • Familiarity with the Indigenous agriculture and agri-food sectors

  • Experience building networks within the Indigenous ecosystem

  • Experience representing an organization at trade shows, conferences or industry events
