About the Organization:
Square Financial Services, Inc ("SFS") is Block's bank. We opened in March 2021 and provide lending and FDIC insured deposits services to small businesses on a nationwide basis. We aim to become Block's bank in both name and practice, and focus on empowering the small businesses and consumers served by the Block ecosystem.
The Role
The SFS Compliance Team is seeking a Senior Regulatory Program Manager to enhance and manage the Bank's Compliance Risk Assessment Program. The scope of the role includes compliance risk assessments on existing bank products and proposed new business initiates. It will also perform the annual red flags assessments, provide compliance oversight of third-party risk management, and contribute to fair lending assessments on both existing and proposed products.
You Will
  • Build and maintain SFS's Compliance Risk Assessment Program, including drafting framework procedures, creating the platform's infrastructure, and documenting inventories of business units, processes, risk instances, and controls.
  • Partner with stakeholders to map such inventories and assess inherent risks, control ratings, and residual risks at each risk-assessable intersection for existing and proposed bank products and services.
  • Report to Bank senior management and support teams on risk assessment outputs and facilitate risk treatments for any gaps or weaknesses in the control suite.
  • Provide compliance oversight of SFS's Third Party Risk Management Program by reviewing, approving, and challenging potential and existing vendors' compliance programs.
  • Partner with the Counsel Team to perform fair lending assessments on existing and proposed bank products.
  • Perform annual identify red flags risk assessments on bank products.
  • Participate in audits and regulatory examinations. Assist in addressing material gaps and help prepare responses as requested.

You Have
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in compliance management of commercial and consumer lending and deposits products and services
  • Experience in an Internet bank environment
  • Proficient knowledge of commercial and consumer state and federal banking laws and regulations (e.g., ECOA, UDAAP, EFTA, TILA, FDCPA, Reg W, etc.)
  • Ability to interface effectively and build relationships with counterparts and partners both internal and external to SFS
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment, take ownership of projects and successfully meet established project deadline requirements
  • Ability to develop and implement new policies, strategies, and work processes across multiple operational units and business affiliates
  • Ability to understand and communicate legal and regulatory concepts and convert them into relevant, practical business requirements
  • Excellent oral and technical writing skills, presentation skills

The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
