Job Purpose:

The Regional Application Engineer - Automation Sales (LET/LAP) is responsible for supporting the Regional Sales Teams / Key Distributors for Automation Products / Services in developing and executing plans on a regional basis which results in a pipeline of profitable business for the Automation product group in the short, medium and long term which is consistent with the five-year Lucy Electric business plan. They also will have detailed involvement and interface with Global Product Marketing, Design engineering management and the ATC design team in India.

Job Dimensions:

The role will necessitate a multi-site operating base at LAP and LET offices and well as the LET factory facility. Visits to other switchgear manufacturing facilities, sales offices and customers in overseas locations will also be required.  

Key Accountabilities:

These will include: 

1.  Lead the management and delivery of automation tenders and control the interface with other Lucy 

    business units in preparing tenders. This will require developing a robust tendering process allowing. 

    efficient resource allocation to the most suitable prospects. 

2.  Provide Automation technical and commercial support to the Regional Sales Teams / Key 

    Distributors for both strategic and operational development. 

3.  Formulate quotations and technical support data for the Regional Sales Teams / Key Distributors 

    and support with the negotiation of technical and commercial aspects of the Lucy automation offer.

4.  Develop Automation technical support data for sales and marketing teams. 

5.  Give Automation demonstrations to both new and existing customers 

6.  Train Lucy associates in existing and new Automation technology and relevance to distribution 

    network systems. 

7.  Assist the Automation Product Manager and engineering development with identifying new products, solutions and services for development and integrate these into the Lucy service offering.   

8.  Support Lucy Automation Projects in the Region and be responsible for handover of project from Sales Dept. to 

    Contracts. 

9.  Take the regional lead with UK and ATC based Engineering / Development teams and Lucy Project teams / 

    Contract Engineering in LET matching the Automation offering with customer expectations identified in 

    the automation enquiry. 

Secondary activities / tasks:

  1. To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required / instructed in order to maintain and / or improve the efficiency, quality and service provided by the Regional Sales & Marketing Departments.
  2. To undertake business travel abroad as and when required.  
Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
1) Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
2) Advanced and Predictive Analytics: Support interpretation of advanced and predictive analytics data, using specialized software tools and functionalities.
3) Insights and Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of various data and analytics reports.
4) Information and Business Advice: Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring issues to others where necessary for interpretation of policy.
5) Business Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor standard business performance metrics within the organization's established systems to deliver required insights for decision making.
6) Sales: Deliver mostly routine sales support services.
7) Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Data: Schedule follow-up actions and enter relevant information into the CRM system after each contact with a customer to create a call plan and to ensure that the organization has quality data to enable effective customer retention and business development activities.
8) Incentive Program Design: Support the design and delivery of employee incentive programs; provide relevant financial, operational, and business performance analyses; investigate and analyze external practices.
9) Operational Compliance: Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
10) Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level
General Experience Requirement: Sound experience and understanding of straightforward procedures or systems (7 to 12 months)
Managerial Experience Requirement: Very limited (0 to 3 months)
