Job Senior Risk Based Inspection (RBI) Engineer – Offshore Project
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior RBI Engineer to support offshore asset integrity management activities through the development, implementation, and maintenance of Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) programs. The candidate will be responsible for assessing equipment risks, optimizing inspection intervals, improving asset reliability, and ensuring compliance with applicable industry codes and standards.
The role requires close coordination with inspection, corrosion, operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to manage the integrity of pressure equipment and piping systems throughout the asset lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
RBI Program Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) assessments for offshore facilities.
- Conduct qualitative, semi-quantitative, and quantitative RBI studies in accordance with API 580 and API 581 methodologies.
- Evaluate risk associated with pressure vessels, piping systems, heat exchangers, tanks, and associated equipment.
- Establish optimized inspection strategies and intervals based on risk profiles.
- Review and continuously update RBI assessments based on inspection findings, operational changes, and corrosion monitoring data.
Asset Integrity & Inspection
- Perform integrity assessments of static equipment and piping systems.
- Develop inspection plans, corrosion control programs, and fitness-for-service assessments.
- Review inspection reports, NDT results, corrosion monitoring data, and remaining life calculations.
- Identify damage mechanisms affecting equipment and piping systems.
- Support turnaround inspection planning and execution activities.
Corrosion & Materials Engineering
- Evaluate corrosion threats, degradation mechanisms, and material performance.
- Recommend corrosion mitigation measures, monitoring techniques, and material upgrades.
- Support corrosion management programs and integrity operating windows (IOWs).
- Analyze corrosion trends and provide recommendations for risk reduction.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with:
- API 580 & API 581
- API 510 (Pressure Vessels)
- API 570 (Piping Inspection)
- API 653 (Storage Tanks)
- ASME Codes
- NACE/AMPP Standards
- Company Asset Integrity Management Systems
- Participate in audits and regulatory inspections as required.
Risk Assessment & Reporting
- Conduct risk reviews and integrity assessments for critical equipment.
- Prepare RBI reports, risk matrices, management presentations, and technical recommendations.
- Provide engineering support for Management of Change (MOC) processes.
- Present findings and recommendations to management and project stakeholders.
Technical Leadership
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior inspection and integrity engineers.
- Interface with Operations, Maintenance, Process, Corrosion, and HSE teams.
- Support offshore campaigns, shutdowns, and integrity reviews.
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses related to equipment failures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Inspection, Asset Integrity, Corrosion, or RBI Engineering within Oil & Gas facilities.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on RBI assessment experience.
- Strong understanding of offshore production facilities and process equipment.
