A Day in the LifeThe RAS Training Specialist plays a critical role in building the capability of Medtronic's Regional Surgical Robotics organization across Asia Regional Led Markets. This position partners with commercial, marketing, medical education and cross-functional teams to design, deliver and continuously improve training programs focused on Robotic Assisted Surgery (RAS) technologies, procedures and disease-state education. Using a blend of technical expertise, clinical knowledge and adult learning principles, the specialist equips field teams with the product, procedural and competitive knowledge required to support healthcare professionals and improve patient outcomes. This role supports new hire onboarding, field readiness and ongoing professional development, while helping the organization stay current with market dynamics and evolving technologies. The position includes regional travel and may require non-traditional work hours to support training activities across multiple geographies.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Deliver education and training on Medtronic Robotic Assisted Surgery technologies, therapies, procedures and disease-state initiatives across the gastrointestinal, lung, abdominal wall and pelvic care continuum.
- Design, facilitate and continuously improve instructor-led, laboratory-based and virtual training programs for field personnel.
- Lead onboarding and development activities for new hires, providing coaching, progress monitoring and readiness support throughout training programs.
- Conduct competency-based assessments to evaluate technical proficiency, product knowledge and procedural understanding.
- Partner with Marketing, Medical Education, Digital Education, Sales and Business Development teams to develop targeted learning solutions that improve field effectiveness and customer engagement.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for educational content within product launches, commercial initiatives and cross-functional projects.
- Provide training expertise and clinical insights to Medical Education and Product Development teams.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity and industry developments to strengthen organizational readiness and training effectiveness.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in training, field sales, sales support, clinical, or technical roles within the medical device or healthcare industry.
- Experience with Robotic Assisted Surgery technologies, medical capital equipment, or equivalent healthcare technologies.
- Clinical and/or operating room experience.
- Experience delivering technical product and procedure training programs.
- Experience designing, developing, delivering and evaluating technical education using blended learning methodologies.
- Fluency in English.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting surgical robotics or advanced surgical technology training programs.
- Experience using learning technologies and training management systems.
- Additional Asian language proficiency.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional commercial, marketing and medical education teams.
- Experience conducting competency-based skills assessments and field readiness evaluations.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years experience in training, field sales, sales support, clinical, or technical role in medical device or healthcare
- Medical device experience with Robotic Assisted Surgery technologies or capital equipment
- Clinical and/or operating room experience
- Proven experience delivering technical training and using learning/education technology including programming systems
- Design, development, delivery and evaluation of product and procedure based technical education using blended learning solutions
- Fluency in English
- Fluency in an additional Asian language
