To strengthen our Sensor Technology Team located in Wietmarschen-Lohne offering flexible working hours and the option for home office we are looking for a

Senior R&D Engineer – Ultrasound & Sensor Systems (all genders welcome)

In this role, you drive the technological evolution of our sensor systems, focusing on robust, precise and innovative solutions for demanding industrial inspection applications. You systematically broaden the application scope of existing and new sensor concepts and enable their use in cutting-edge application scenarios. Leveraging your expertise in nondestructive testing (NDT) – spanning ultrasonic measurement technology, sensor development and intelligent inspection and data evaluation methods – you significantly influence our key development programs and future technology domains.

As an experienced team player, you work in an interdisciplinary setup with mechanics, electronics and software and take a key role along the entire product development lifecycle – from requirements definition and system architecture through to verification, validation and release. In this way, you make a substantial contribution to the development of technologically advanced and sustainable solutions.

What you can expect
  • You develop and are responsible for the technical conception and realization of the sensor systems throughout the entire development process

  • You translate customer and application requirements into viable system architectures, with a focus on ultrasonic technologies and state-of-the-art signal processing

  • You derive requirements from system level down to component level (sensors, electronics, evaluation methods, interfaces) and translate them into precise technical specifications

  • You define, plan, and manage verification and validation tests at system level based on technical specifications

  • With profound knowledge of relevant development, product and standards landscapes as well as your experience in their practical implementation, you contribute to the overall success of our projects

  • You advise management on technological topics, particularly sensor technologies, system platforms, and inspection applications, and their impact on our technology and product roadmap

  • You work closely with an interdisciplinary and international team across mechanics, electronics, and software, driving high-tech solutions for demanding applications

What you bring

To become part of the Rosenxt family, you apply your creativity as well as your structured and self‑driven working style in a way that creates value for both the company and your team. You also bring:

  • Degree in natural sciences or engineering (e.g., physics, electrical engineering, mechatronics) and at least 5 years of industrial experience in developing innovative sensor systems in the NDT environment

  • Proven track record in system and architecture design of sensor systems, including requirements engineering, interface definition and hardware/software specification

  • Solid, broad-based expertise in established measurement technologies and their practical use in industrial applications like condition monitoring and non-destructive testing

  • Demonstrated expertise in ultrasonics (e.g., time-of-flight and echo methods, phased arrays, guided waves), including driver electronics, signal processing and typical applications

  • Several years of experience in the design of sensors and sensor electronics (analog frontends, A/D conversion, noise optimization, EMC-compliant design)

  • Familiarity with relevant standards and guidelines in measurement technology and their implementation in development projects

  • Experience in dealing with intellectual property (patents, freedom-to-operate analyses, IP monitoring)

  • In-depth market and technology knowledge to support well-founded make-or-buy decisions

  • Structured, self-driven and team-oriented working style combined with excellent communication skills in both German and English

Look forward to
  • Development and career opportunities in a global, innovative and long-term oriented group of companies with family character

  • Flexible working hours, working time accounts and Home Office possible

  • An open corporate culture, where we celebrate success with social events
