Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Quality Manager to lead not only plant quality performance but the evolution of the quality function at our manufacturing facility.

This role goes beyond traditional quality management by driving step-change improvements in systems, processes, and organizational capability. The Senior Quality Manager is responsible for modernizing quality practices, strengthening team expertise, and embedding a proactive, prevention-based quality culture across the plant.

As a key member of the plant leadership team, this leader will translate enterprise quality strategy into site execution while identifying and implementing opportunities to upgrade how quality is delivered through people, processes, and technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the senior site quality leader, aligning plant execution with corporate quality vision while identifying gaps and driving functional maturity.
  • Lead the transformation of the quality function from reactive inspection to proactive, data-driven quality management.
  • Develop and execute a multi-year-quality roadmap focused on process standardization, capability building, and digital enablement.
  • Act as a change leader, influencing plant leadership to adopt best-in-class quality practices.
  • Build, coach, and elevate the quality team, including QA, QC, and technical staff.
  • Assess current team capabilities and implement upskilling plans in problem-solving, statistical methods, and quality engineering disciplines.
  • Develop future leaders within the quality function and strengthen bench depth.
  • Drive accountability for quality across operations--not just within the quality team.
  • Evaluate and upgrade existing quality systems, procedures, and workflows to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.
  • Implement advanced quality tools and methodologies (SPC maturity, layered process audits, digital quality systems, etc.).
  • Lead efforts to improve process capability (Cp/Cpk), first-pass yield, and defect prevention.
  • Standardize best practices across shifts and departments to reduce variability
  • Own plant-wide Cost of Quality (COQ) performance and drive significant reductions in scrap, rework, and warranty costs.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Prioritize and execute high-impact improvement projects with measurable business outcomes.
  • Ensure robust root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes.
  • Establish disciplined processes for rapid containment and permanent corrective action.
  • Partner cross-functionally to eliminate systemic issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant standards (ISO 9001, AAMA, ASTM, NFRC, etc.) and lead audit readiness.
  • Strengthen audit processes to move from compliance-based to performance-based quality systems.
  • Modernize documentation and reporting to improve accessibility, accuracy, and usability.
  • Elevate supplier quality management processes, including supplier development and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to reduce incoming defects and improve supplier reliability.
  • Own customer quality performance and lead resolution of escalations.
  • Implement systems to proactively identify and eliminate customer-impacting risks.
  • Strengthen feedback loops between field performance and plant operations.

Required Education, Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive quality leadership experience, including demonstrated success in transforming quality functions
  • Experience leading quality in mid-to-large manufacturing environments
  • Strong background in building products or similar industries preferred
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field required
  • Deep expertise in quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis, process control, and structured problem solving
  • Experience implementing or upgrading quality systems and tools (digital or manual)
  • Proven ability to lead transformation and influence cultural change
  • Strong track record of developing talent and building high-performing teams
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels
