We’re looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to play a key role in shaping quality excellence across our Manchester site. This is an opportunity to lead, influence, and drive meaningful improvements in a global engineering business where quality, safety, and customer satisfaction are at the heart of everything we do.
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will lead a small, capable team, while working cross-functionally to ensure robust quality processes are embedded across the business. You’ll take ownership of customer issues, champion continuous improvement, and help deliver measurable impact on product performance and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a high-performing team providing direction, coaching, and support
- Champion Health & Safety, embedding a strong safety-first culture across all quality activities
- Own customer quality issues, driving root cause analysis and delivering effective corrective and preventive actions
- Manage product returns and repairs, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with customer expectations
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, Lean) to resolve internal, supplier, and customer issues
- Drive performance through data, developing and communicating quality KPIs and visual metrics
- Improve inspection and verification processes, working closely with operations, engineering, and supply chain
- Lead audit activities, including product, process, system, and supplier audits to identify opportunities for improvement
- Reduce cost of poor quality, identifying inefficiencies and implementing sustainable improvements
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring quality is embedded from design through to production

Qualifications- Demonstrable experience of working in a Senior Quality role
- Strong experience supporting and managing quality management system (ISO 9001), techniques and methodologies inclusive of 8D/RCA and Lean Six Sigma (DMACI) - to improve operational performance. PED & ATEX Certifications (desirable
- Strong experience within a Customer Facing environment, with knowledge of NCR management.
- Strong understanding and utilisation of various quality tools and methodologies i.e. PPAP, CAPA methodology, 8D problem solving, 5 Why’s, SPC, 6 Sigma (DMAIC), Lean Analysis, Pareto charts and statistical data; to support Strong problem-solving techniques and data driven approach.
- An in depth understanding of the manufacturing process; converting raw materials and components into finished goods with board and specific experience in using Tier reporting process.
- Experience working in a prescriptive working environment; Oil and Gas, Aerospace, Automotive, Nuclear, Project, or Infrastructure. Experience operating MRP/ERP systems

Skills Required
- Demonstrable experience working in a Senior Quality role
