QUALITY ASSURANCEWhat We Do
The Quality Assurance team owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all products and functions across Epic. Our team works closely with developers and production to ensure the best possible user experience for our community and customers.
What You'll Do
We’re looking for a Senior QA Manager, Operations to oversee our global skills development and overall discipline efficiency across Unreal Engine, games, metaverse development, and online services. You will own skills development, quality metrics evolution, recruitment, data management, and morale events across products. As a manager, you will lead a small team sequentially while also performing as an individual contributor to solve meaningful discipline specific problems focusing on long term solutions so that problems remain fixed.
In this role, you will
- Oversee the recruitment process and data management to make sure every QA team is getting the right people at the right time
- Evaluate and improve morale and organizational efficiency spanning individual teams to projects that impact everyone in a 500+ person organization
- Be the key point of contact within Epic QA for operational effectiveness, impacting cross team relationships and supporting our external partnerships
- Move between the organizational and tactical execution layer as you seek to understand test problems so that you can build and run both the short-term and long-term solutions to fix those concerns
- Identify and track risks while providing strategic solutions
- Create and refine training materials to improve QA’s ability to work more effectively with development throughout the SDLC
- Develop a quality bar framework for development teams across disciplines
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of Quality Assurance experience
- 4+ years of managerial experience
- Experience managing complex data sets and juggling a host of competing priorities
- A deep understanding of defect reporting, version control, and configuration management best practices, along with different testing phase best practices and objectives (functional, system integration, UAT, performance)
- Experience working in a fast paced environment and the desire to lead a strong test-focused team
- Experience managing vendor relationship or complex relationship within an organization
- Previous experience supporting a SaaS product, software, or game development is preferred
- Formal QA certification, such as ISTQB or equivalent experience is highly preferred
This role is open to multiple locations across the US (including CA, NYC, & WA).

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
New York City Base Pay Range
$178,214—$261,381 USD
California Base Pay Range
$163,363—$239,599 USD
Washington Base Pay Range
$174,501—$255,935 USD
