Senior Automation Engineer, Chennai

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer role in the field of Quality Assurance QA Automation Engineer at NIQ Activate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and quality of our software solutions. You will b e responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to identify issues and ensure the highest quality of our products. Your work will help us deliver bug-free software to our clients and maintain the reliability of our systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress and JavaScript.
  • Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements and ensure
  • comprehensive test coverage.
  • Execute and analyze automated test results, reporting defects and working with developers to resolve
  • issues.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
  • Report and document software defects
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testing best practices
  • Continuously research and implement automation testing best practices
  • Ensure the stability and reliability of our testing infrastructure.
  • Continuously improve and optimize the automation framework and testing processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in QA automation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Senior QA Automation engineer 5-7 years of experience
  • Proven experience in test automation using Cypress
  • Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure testing environments and tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright).
  • Knowledge of performance and security testing.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Experience with Single Page Applications (SPA) and React.
