About the role 

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our engineering team to contribute to our mission of redefining the healthcare experience for patients and providers. At CirrusMD, you will collaborate with frontend, backend, and mobile engineers to design and implement scalable automation frameworks.  

As our sole Sr QA Automation Engineer, you will serve as the champion for our quality engineering strategy, driving test coverage and supporting engineering teams across the organization. You understand that the true role of test engineering is not to act as a reactive safety net, but to actively accelerate the team by removing delivery bottlenecks and leveling up our overall quality strategy.

Location: This position may work remotely anywhere in the United States of America. 

What you’ll do (Essential Responsibilities) 

  • Own, develop, and scale our automation framework, while increasing our test suite coverage with robust, automated end-to-end tests. 

  • Lead QA initiatives and contribute to the improvement of QA processes, modern tooling, and automated testing best practices within an agile environment. 

  • Perform different types of testing as needed—including automation, API, mobile, and targeted manual regression testing—to ensure overall application stability. 

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design to define and ensure comprehensive test coverage throughout the development lifecycle . 

  • Analyze customer usage patterns to isolate application risk points, and perform root-cause analysis on bug reports from internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Partner with the DevOps team to ensure efficient and fast execution of end-to-end test suites within our GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline. 

  • All other duties assigned. 

What you’ll bring (Qualifications) 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, MIS, CS or equivalent experience. 

  • Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in software test automation engineering. 

  • Advanced, hands-on experience building, scaling, and maintaining automated web test suites (Cypress, Playwright). 

  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript or another programming language, with ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable test code. 

  • Practical experience ensuring automated test suites execute efficiently in parallel within modern deployment pipelines (CI/CD, GitHub Actions). 

  • Excellent debugging, analytical, and root-cause analysis skills to isolate and trace complex technical bugs. 

  • Experience querying relational databases (PostgreSQL) to support debugging. 

  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. 

  • Commitment to protect user data by following data security, privacy, and ethical technology practices. 

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent and ongoing future basis without requiring sponsorship. 

Preferred Experience: 

  • Experience with framework migrations from older automation suites to modern, next-generation tooling. 

  • Hands-on experience contributing to mobile application test suites. 

  • Experience implementing specialized testing layers, such as API contract testing or load and performance testing. 

  • Familiarity using AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot, Gemini, Claude). 

  • Prior experience in the health-tech space testing applications in the broader US health system.
