Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

To be successful as a BPM Developer, you should have experience with:

  • Hands-on software development experience; particularly within Banking and financial services industry
  • Experience and thorough understanding of business process management (BPM) systems like (IBM BPM v857 and BAW)
  • Experience in development on IBM BPM platform, and thorough knowledge about IBM BPM Class Hierarchy
  • Hands on experience in Agile methodology, application design and unit testing
  • Experienced in delivering critical, complex IBM BPM application with numerous modules involved

  

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  •  Client Lifecycle domain knowledge (client Onboarding, maintenance and off-boarding) business analysis and / or technical knowledge preferred
  • Experience in implementing various types of integrations using IBM BPM

The role is based out of Pune.

Skills Required

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable Python-based applications
  • Build high-performance backend systems, RESTful APIs, asynchronous services, and distributed applications
  • Experience with Django, Flask, or FastAPI
  • Implement authentication and authorization (OAuth2, JWT, SSO, RBAC)
  • Architect and implement microservices-based solutions and containerized deployments
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm for orchestration and deployment
  • Work with message brokers and event-driven architectures (RabbitMQ, Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, Celery)
  • Design and optimize relational and non-relational databases; write efficient SQL and tune queries (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and CI/CD tooling
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using PyTest, UnitTest, Mock
  • Observability, logging, monitoring and tracing experience (ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk)
  • Participate in system design, code reviews, architecture decisions, and mentor junior developers
  • Familiarity with Tornado, Falcon, or Pyramid (optional based on project needs)
  • Experience with GraphQL services, Selenium/Playwright for automation testing
  • Exposure to AI/ML libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn), Airflow, serverless (Lambda/Functions), or front-end frameworks (JavaScript, React, Angular)
