Overview & Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To manage the calculation of percentage of completion accounting for revenue and cost, commissions, loss job reserves, liquidated damages and account reconciliations process.

Review of financial results and support commercial finance in analysis where required.

Maintain the cost databases and cost tracking files
-
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather and validate project-related financial data.

Maintain and improve internal controls related to project accounting processes.
BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE
-
Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, business or mathematics,
-
5 to 7 years' work experience in jobs related to product costing or manufacturing.

Strong analytical, organizational, ERP, and computer skills.
-
Comprehensive understanding of financial and manufacturing, organization and methods.

Good verbal and written communication skills.
-
Product and Process knowledge.
-
Strong understanding of accounting practices and procedures.
-
High level of knowledge of ERP project and manufacturing cost systems.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES

Responsible for managing Oracle Projects module and relevant accounting
-
Manage the processes and updates of the cost tracking files and cost databases
-
Relevant recording of journal entries at month end and preparation of reports.

Run the processes for cost collection and revenue generation for all business unit orders within Oracle Projects
-
Produce, verify, and distribute the monthly percent complete schedules for all business units
-
Process the percent complete accounting entries and reconciliations
-
Facilitate and process projects pending close/close including inventory account reconciliations and pending close journal entries

Provide percent of completion balance sheet information to Financial Planning

Lead process to collect, explain and present information to internal and external auditors on the percent complete process.

Provide information and analysis to internal and external auditors on a quarterly and annual basis including manage verification of status of percent complete between company and customers, pull cost details out of Oracle, perform analysis of data, and present to auditors to explain any deviations.

Provide management project cost information on a monthly basis

Advise Operation and Project Managers of cost issues and recommend corrective actions

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
