Felix Construction is looking for a Senior Project Manager with substantial experience in the water/wastewater construction industry with a self-performing general contractor. The main responsibilities for this role are verifying estimates, evaluating drawings and specifications, establishing and communicating schedules, directing construction requirements, and collecting and summarizing project data and trends. This role leads and develops a team of Project Engineers and/or Assistant Project Managers. Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and mentor Field Engineers, Project Engineers, and Assistant Project Managers creating an environment of teamwork
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders
- Support proposal development and project planning initiatives
- Assist in creating and implementing internal training programs
- Actively participate in the hiring and recruiting process
- Convert project estimates into workable budgets, identifying and tracking key cost elements
- Ensure vendor file organization, communicate effectively with vendors, and issue purchase orders, subcontracts, and material orders while prioritizing project schedule requirements
- Build, maintain, and present the project CPM schedule, ensuring activities stay on or ahead of schedule
- Manage multiple small projects or a large project efficiently, handling workload effectively
- Estimate and manage change orders, providing realistic costs for additional work requests
- Follow company processes and deliver clear, professional correspondence
- Pursue value engineering solutions with clients and engineers, viewing project challenges as opportunities to enhance quality and reputation
- Develop comprehensive work packages with secondary reviews, ensuring they’re ready ahead of field work
- Draft shutdown plans with the technical expertise needed for approval
- Work under the guidance of the General Manager or Project Director, potentially contributing to senior leadership decisions
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; in construction management or engineering
- 7+ years' experience in design and construction of municipal water and/or wastewater facilities
- Must have basic understanding of the multi-disciplined practices required in the construction of water/wastewater facilities
- Proven track record of developing and leading an effective team
- Must be passionate about client service and the water industry
- Must have a strong work ethic, a can do attitude and good communication skills
- Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, Project Teams and Outlook. Experience with Vista Viewpoint or similar construction software is a plus

Skills Required
