Job Description

🚢 Joint Project Manager – Ship lift Programme

This programme will lead the delivery of critical upgrade and maintenance works for the client's ship lift, a key facility supporting the UK's submarine fleet. ⚓

🔹 What You'll Do

  • 📅 Lead the planning, delivery, and completion of a complex engineering upgrade and maintenance programme.
  • 💷 Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • 📊 Develop and maintain integrated project schedules and performance reporting.
  • 🤝 Coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders, including MoD, Babcock Marine, specialist contractors, and site management teams.
  • 📈 Provide project governance, progress updates, financial reporting, and risk management.
  • ⚠️ Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • 🛡️ Ensure compliance with defence, health & safety, environmental, and security requirements.
  • ✅ Support audits, assurance activities, and quality control processes.

    Experience

    • Proven experience delivering complex engineering, infrastructure, or maintenance projects.
    • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
    • Experience managing schedules, budgets, risks, and project governance, change control.
    • Ability to operate effectively within a multi-agency and highly regulated environment.
    • Knowledge of defence, nuclear, infrastructure, or heavy engineering projects is highly desirable.

    Training & Qualifications

    Formal project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, APM PMQ, MSP, or equivalent).

    Skills Required
