Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced senior IT project manager capable of successfully owning and delivering to an ongoing and demanding workload. Position requires the ability to successfully manage and deliver a concurrent portfolio of up to 10 complex IT projects at any given time. Candidate must be highly proactive and results driven, accountable with the ability to progress and deliver with minimal direction. Position requires a solid understanding of current technologies to maximize effectiveness. Experience in the energy industry and/or government a significant plus.
Essential Functions:
• Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, objectives, and deliverables. Create timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
• Lead, motivate, and manage project teams, ensuring they work cohesively and efficiently. Provide direction and support to team members.
• Establish and maintain clear communication with clients, team members, and senior leadership. Provide regular project status updates and manage expectations effectively.
• Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Monitor and address issues as they arise to keep the project on track.
• Set and maintain quality standards for project deliverables. Conduct regular quality checks to ensure compliance with best practices and industry standards.
• Allocate and manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and budgets. Optimize resource allocation to achieve project goals.
• Quickly identify and address project-related issues and obstacles. Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to find effective solutions.
• Adapt to changing project requirements and scope. Implement changes effectively while minimizing disruptions to the project's progress.
• Ensure a smooth project closure process, including client acceptance, documentation, and knowledge transfer. Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned.
• Align project goals and outcomes with the organization's strategic objectives. Ensure that project work contributes to the overall success of the business.
Job Specifications Required:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, Project Management, or other related field from an accredited college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Project/Program/Portfolio Management Professional (PMP, PgMP,or PfMP) certification.
• Must have a minimum of ten years of related experience.
• Highly proficient with all current principles of Project Management.
• Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing Application Development projects.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience implementing Commercial Off the Shelf systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing IT vendors.
• Proven experience successfully owning, managing, and delivering full system development lifecycle for large IT projects.
• Successful experience working in a large, complex Information Technology environment.
• Active listening skills and analytical skills.
• Ability to develop strategies and effectively organize tasks
• Utilize critical thinking, data analysis, and informed decision-making to overcome challenges.
• Experience managing project budgets of over $1M.
• Experience managing project teams of 10+ resources.
Proven experience owning and managing multiple, concurrent projects of high complexity.
