About Your Business Area/Department:

Americas Delivery Management group is the entry point within the delivery organization towards the commercial team of the Americas Travel Sellers unit (Travel Agency).

Summary of the role:

Lead the Project team through the definition and planning phases and then monitor and control the project to completion using Project Management methodology. The role is focused on delivery control, coordination, and governance rather than people management 

In this role you’ll:

  • Project Delivery & Execution

  • Lead the project team through definition, planning, execution, monitoring, and control phases.

  • Create and execute project work plans, updating them as requirements evolve.

  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects.

  • Ensure proper management of project controls, including risks, issues, and dependencies.

  • Apply and enforce the Amadeus Project Management methodology across the project lifecycle.

  • Has working experience and advanced and specialized technical/functional knowledge in own discipline. Understands how own area contributes to the business. Acts as a reference for colleagues with less experience and supports junior team members.

  • Influences decisions related to own activity, anticipating dependencies and consequences in complex scenarios, contributes to transversal projects, proposes improvements to processes and is accountable for own and team commitments.

  • Works independently within plan dictated by manager, with some guidance on most complex situations. Specific accountabilities: Create and execute work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the projects Ensure management of projects controls (risks, issues and dependencies) Effectively apply the Amadeus project management methodology and enforces project standards Ensure that the project is managed to budget, time and quality and that it delivers the benefits anticipated in the business case.

  • Responsible for problem resolution and project success. This job profile participate in the preparation of the following key deliverables:

  • Meeting management: Steering committee, Project Status meetings - Documentation: Project Management Plan including, schedule, cost, scope...

  • Engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures. Communication with stakeholders both internal and external Project accounting: progress reports, budget management and invoicing

About the ideal candidate:

  • University or Engineer degree in Tourism, and MBA or equivalent as an asset.

  • 5-10 years’ experience in the travel industry.

  • Travel Agency Industry

  • Previous specific experience in Business Solution and /or Delivery management, acting as a Project/Program Manager in the Travel industry.

  • Advanced and specialized technical/functional knowledge in project management.

  • Project Mgmt. Certification

  • Experience managing internal transformational projects, potentially using PMI and/or SAFe methodologies.

  • Typically working toward or already holding Project Management certification

  • The role may cover large, multifaceted projects

  • Languages: English - Excellent written and oral

Skills Required

  • University or Engineer degree in Tourism
  • MBA or equivalent
  • 5-10 years experience in the travel industry
