Senior Project Manager | TXL Power Projects

The opportunity

Join Downer Energy & Utilities and lead the delivery of major transmission and distribution line projects across Australia. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to take ownership of complex infrastructure projects from tender through to completion, delivering safe, profitable and high-quality outcomes for our clients.

What you’ll do

• Drive end-to-end delivery of substation, transmission and BESS projects 
• Lead tender submissions through to execution and project close-out 
• Lead the end-to-end delivery of overhead transmission and distribution line projects
• Own scope, design coordination and construction methodology across complex power assets 
• Develop and manage WBS, project schedules, budgets and cost forecasts 
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to quality standards 
• Champion Zero Harm and ensure compliance with Downer standards and governance
• Provide accurate, timely financial reporting on all direct and indirect costs
• Deliver consistent, high-quality reporting within required timeframes

What we’re looking for

• Diploma qualification in Project Management and Engineering Degree is preferred 
• AIPM Accreditation CPPM or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience managing transmission line, powerline or utility infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of transmission and distribution construction methodologies
• Proven ability to deliver against contractual and financial targets in live project environments
• Solid understanding of AS/NZ/ISO standards and relevant electrical industry legislation
• Ability to travel and attend site
• Advanced capability with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Primavera P6
• Strong expertise in, financial management, budgeting, risk identification, mitigation and control, subcontract & procurement management
• Proven capability to lead project teams while contributing within a collaborative environment
