Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager, Diagnostic Imaging is responsible for leading the end-to-end planning and execution of high-impact initiatives, with a primary focus on a multi-year diagnostic imaging upgrade and/or conversion initiative. This role serves as the central point of accountability for managing the application lifecycle, overseeing  implementation, and coordinating complex vendor engagements across multiple facilities simultaneously. The Senior Project Manager partners with various stakeholders throughout the CHS organization (corporate and facility level) and external vendors to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time and within scope. They apply deep knowledge of diagnostic imaging in the healthcare setting to drive execution, mitigate technical risks, and support project management best practices across the team. 
Essential Functions

  • Leads the full lifecycle of large-scale, cross-functional, or strategically significant projects from initiation through closure.
  • Tracks the budget and POs and ensures Change Management is implemented when needed.
  • Collaborates with business units and functional teams to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and success criteria.
  • Manages detailed project plans, allocates resources, tracks milestones, and drives execution to ensure alignment with goals and deadlines.
  • Identifies and mitigates project risks and issues, escalating as needed to maintain project progress.
  • Serves as the primary liaison for project updates, communicating progress, risks, and decisions to sponsors and senior leadership.
  • Oversees the preparation of project documentation, including charters, reports, schedules, and communication plans.
  • Ensures adherence to project management standards, methodologies, and governance frameworks.
  • Provides mentorship and guidance, fostering professional growth and performance.
  • Drives continuous improvement by recommending and implementing enhancements to tools, templates, and delivery processes.
  • Manages change control processes and evaluates the organizational impact of proposed changes.
  • Adheres to the PMO policies and procedures as outlined by CHS.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • This is a remote position with the exception of potential travel to the Franklin, TN once a year for a conference 

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 5-7 years of experience managing projects of increasing complexity required

Preferred:

  • 7 + years of Project Management experience highly preferred
  • Prior background working in Imaging and possessing an understand of that space highly preferred
  • An understanding of image migration highly preferred
  • A brief understanding of HL7 preferred 
  • Prior experience managing healthcare projects highly preferred 
  • Prior experience with vendor collaboration highly preferred 
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and managing project portfolios or enterprise-wide initiatives highly preferred
  • Experience working with Change Healthcare applications highly preferred
  • Prior experience in understanding of data flow, application integration, automation and end-to-end workflow processes highly preferred
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI highly preferred
  • Prior experience utilizing Smart Sheets preferred  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and lifecycle frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Proficient in project portfolio tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar.
  • An understanding of how the user performs the job so we can build the BOT to replicate the process (strong in requirement gathering)
  • Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Skilled in facilitating collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to executives, sponsors, and technical teams.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring capabilities.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented with strong attention to detail.
