The Fresenius Medical Care group operates two closely linked production sites in Japan:
Inukai Plant, located in Bungo-Ōno City, Ōita Prefecture, is a key manufacturing site dedicated to the production of hollow fibers for hemodialysis, an essential component of dialysis filters, which are assembled into finished dialyzers at the Buzen plant in Fukuoka.
Buzen Plant, located in Buzen City, Fukuoka Prefecture, manufactures hemodialysis filters and peritoneal dialysis bags with the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Both plants are recognized for their advanced manufacturing technologies, strong emphasis on workplace safety, and commitment to continuous improvement and product quality. Through close collaboration with global production sites across the Fresenius Medical Care network, the plants maintain world class standards and contribute to the stable supply of life-sustaining medical products used in dialysis clinics and hospitals around the world.
Your role – Strengthen project engineering competencies across Japan sites
Your position strengthens a dynamic and ambitious technical team operating at the company’s Japanese locations in Inukai and Buzen. As a project engineer you are responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing projects within the organization, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Your role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Develop detailed project plans that include scope, goals, deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets
Assess and mitigate project risks, including analyzing and managing technical risks
Prepare convincing dossiers for project budget application
Work closely with managers, engineers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned and progressing smoothly
Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle
Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including plans, designs, reports, and updates
Monitor project costs, manage budgets, and report on financial status
Ensure all project activities meet or exceed industry standards, regulations, and company quality guidelines
Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and changes in scope
Address technical issues and project challenges, providing solutions to keep the project on track
Participate in the final testing, commissioning, and handover processes
Create project documents including detailed project notes and records
Proactively identify cost saving opportunities
Improve the overall equipment effectiveness of the production lines
Offer training, education and consulting in the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and automation technology
Support and back up engineering teams

5+ years of experience in project engineering or a related field
