Power Systems Engineering Manager__
As a Project Engineer in Power Systems at ABB, a global leader in technology, electrification, automation, and digitalization, you will be part of a dynamic international project team, playing a crucial role in providing innovative technical solutions for our clients.

This role is contributing to the Process Industries division in Switzerland.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Lead technical activities in international projects across the full project lifecycle, covering electrification, control, and instrumentation for industrial plants. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
- Ensure the integration of all engineering disciplines and efficient execution in line with contract specifications, quality and technical standards, safety requirements, and product compliance. Provide technical guidance on engineered High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) power distribution equipment and electrical studies.
- Contribute actively to design reviews, monitor the development of project deliverables, and support the preparation of claims and change requests, including new scopes of work, cost and schedule impacts, and related risk assessments.
- Engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and equipment suppliers, from procurement through delivery to ensure equipment meets project requirements.
Qualifications for the role:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, with a focus on power distribution or a related field.
- More than 12+ years of experience in power systems, ideally as a Lead Engineer or Senior Project Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of power distribution concepts and the sizing and specification of primary and secondary equipment. Proven experience in advanced electrical network analysis and simulation, including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, harmonic analysis, transient and dynamic stability studies, small-signal and large-signal stability assessments, EMT simulations, power quality analysis, and grid compliance evaluations for industrial, mining, and renewable energy applications. Experience with HV, MV and LV equipment, digital protection relays, and IEC 61850 engineering.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Highly self-motivated and curious, with a strong interest in learning and applying new technologies.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel internationally approximately 25% of the time.
