Job Description
Avery Dennison is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to join the Performance Tapes North America division. You will be responsible for managing, executing and completing projects such as new equipment deployments and start up, Equipment or Process upgrades, Continuous Improvement and other activities required by the business & operations. Part of your duties will be monitoring and managing the status of projects including cost, scope, timing and resources. You will work closely with other departments and suppliers to achieve the company's goal. This role will be based in Painesville, Ohio and will report into the Regional Technical Manager.
Key responsibilities:

Propose, design, prioritize, conduct and balance multiple projects for integration into the manufacturing environment. Write project plans and figure out timeline and resources for projects.

Manages multiple, often concurrent projects and meets expectations

Lead major capital and process improvement projects; responsible for all engineering aspects, process, equipment, and controls.

Develop project budget, investment justification and project approval requests.

Utilize concepts of Lean and Six Sigma across projects to ensure continuous excellence.

Work with outside parties (contractors, vendors, etc.) and internal stakeholders to aid in successful project completion.

Responsible for the safety of internal and contract employees working in and around project areas.

Train operators and maintenance teammates, revise procedures, and plan for long-range maintenance of assets related to projects.

Monitor performance of completed projects and process improvements. Provide troubleshooting and continuous improvement support as needed.

Build and maintain relationships with internal customers and vendors to ensure problems are clearly identified and quantified and the best solution is developed and implemented.

Keeps stakeholders informed of status and upcoming activities and provides management with frequent status and forecasts

Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in engineering or related field is required.

Strong project management skills and experience required, preferable in multiple large, CapEx projects in manufacturing or similar settings.

8+ Years manufacturing experience preferred; 6+ if you have a Masters or other advanced degree.

Familiarity with automation, drive and control systems.

Knowledgeable with National Electric Code.

Strong project management skills and ability to lead multiple, concurrent priorities while running multiple large complex projects. Project management certification is a plus.

Experience with safe work practices (ie LOTO, confined space entry, etc) in manufacturing environments.

Strong PC skills: MS Office, AutoCAD, Google.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Previous Six Sigma/Lean experience, Green Belt / Black Belt certification a plus.

Knowledge of web handling, coating and thermal oxidizers a plus.

Experience working in facilities employing the OSHA Process Safety Management Standard a plus.
