AMP's Recycling Robots

AMP is hiring a Business Development & Market Research Analyst, reporting to the Director of Project Development, to support the targeting, pursuit, and execution of innovative, large-scale solid waste projects. This is remote in the United States.

The Business Development & Market Research Analyst will directly support a team that is focused on winning new business both proactively (identifying opportunities and originating) and reactively (responding to solicitations, such as RFPs) and leading pre-installation project development. 

As our Business Development & Market Research Analyst, you will: 

Identify High-Value Opportunities for our Facility-Scale Systems

  • Determine and prioritize high-value target markets through the identification of demand drivers, competitive supply, and prospective public and private stakeholders.
  • Identify leads that match our origination criteria within target markets and support the prospecting process by developing and sharing pitch material, coordinating meetings, and working with the team to convert them into customers.
  • Develop and refine origination criteria in consultation with team members
  • Prepare market and opportunity briefings for team and company leadership.
  • Use CRM software (Salesforce or other platform) to manage, track, and report on leads, opportunities, and proposals.

Help Us Win New Business

  • Coordinate cross-functional meetings to gather information required for proposals, communicate proposal schedules and requirements, and drive progress towards established deadlines.
  • Manage proposal development by drafting, formatting, proofreading, and editing proposals to ensure they are clear, compelling, complete/compliant/responsive, accurate, internally consistent, and making use of preferred brand messaging.
  • Record the sources of all content included in each proposal.
  • Maintain a proposal library to enable the efficient preparation of proposals.

Support the Development of Complex Projects

  • Identify site-specific regulatory constraints for projects, including local, state, and federal regulations for land use, solid waste, and emissions, among others.
  • Support the local, state, and federal permitting processes, to include application preparation, review of consultant/contractor reports, and submission.
  • Perform real estate market research to identify site availability and costs.
  • Research incentives, programs, and other means of public participation that could support project development and operations in prospective markets.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

The successful candidate will have:

  • 2-4 years of experience in project management or business development strategy, preferably in the waste industry or a comparable industrial vertical.
  • Excellent writer and keen editor who can convey technical information clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
  • Basic graphic design capabilities - for presentations and proposal documents - are a plus.
  • Significant experience performing market research and analysis with both quantitative and qualitative data. An ideal candidate will be comfortable formulating research questions and then locating and working with various data to identify project opportunities and outreach targets.
  • Experience leading meetings and coordinating cross-functional project teams.
  • Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) software. Experience with Salesforce preferred.
  • Strong competitive drive to win.
  • High willingness to learn.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Salary & Compensation Information: $75,000 - $100,000 per year

Equity Grant:  The candidate selected for this role will be recommended for a stock option grant commensurate with the position and the candidate’s qualifications.

  • Medical - The company covers up 85% to 100% of the premium for Cigna medical healthcare plans depending on the selection. Employees pay the difference in premium if they select a more expensive plan. Up to 75% for dependents.
