As the Senior Program Manager (PMO) at Leica Biosystems IDC, Bangalore, you will lead the IDC PMO function and drive disciplined execution across new Software product development, sustaining engineering, Software product lifecycle management, change requests and strategic site initiatives. You will strengthen portfolio governance, improve project data quality and transparency, and enable timely leadership decisions on priorities, resources, risks and trade-offs. This role will partner closely with Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Software, Cybersecurity, Service, Operations and external partners to translate the IDC project roadmap into well-governed, well-executed programs.
This position reports to the Director of LBS IDC and will work closely with local and global stakeholders across the Leica Biosystems organization. The role is based on site at Leica Biosystems IDC, Bangalore.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead and mature the IDC PMO functions by establishing governance routines, standard work, execution cadence, templates, metrics and escalation paths that improve delivery discipline and accountability.
- Drive portfolio execution across NPD, sustaining engineering, lifecycle management, change requests and strategic site initiatives by aligning priorities, milestones, dependencies and resourcing with business goals.
- Strengthen project governance, reporting and business insights by maintaining accurate project data, dashboards, portfolio reviews, milestone visibility, risk tracking and executive decision inputs.
- Collaborate across multiple business units, global PMO teams and functions including Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Software, Cybersecurity, Service and Operations to drive alignment, remove dependencies and ensure successful project delivery.
- Manage and develop project leaders while enabling effective risk, resources, budget and compliance management, including QMS adherence, design control expectations, change governance and audit-ready execution.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Life Sciences, Computer Science or a related technical discipline; PMP®, PMI-ACP, Agile, Lean or equivalent certification is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in Software project, program, portfolio management and multiple years of PMO leadership, preferably within medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences or another regulated product development environment.
- Proven ability to lead PMO governance, portfolio execution, milestone tracking, risk management, resource alignment, budget oversight and executive-level reporting for complex cross-functional programs.
- Experience working in global matrix organizations and collaborating across business units and functions such as Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Software, Cybersecurity, Service, Operations and Commercial teams.
- Working knowledge of Software product development lifecycle processes, QMS expectations, design control, change governance, audit readiness and compliance requirements in regulated environments.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience with Agile, SAFe and Hybrid delivery models delivering software products /solutions.
- Knowledge of DBS, Lean and continuous improvement practices is desirable.
