Job Description

Wise is looking for a seasoned Senior Program Manager to lead the end-to-end program to secure, operationalize and launch our Wise National Trust entity. Based in our Austin, TX office, you will be responsible for managing a comprehensive project management program delivering regulatory approvals, Day 1 operational readiness, and a controlled technical and customer go-live for this critical expansion initiative.

You will orchestrate cross-functional delivery across Banking, Compliance, Risk, Finance, Operations, Technology, Product, Audit and more. Your mission is to support the Wise National Trust CEO and leadership team to timely deliver the operationalization of a trust bank charter for pre-opening examination, customer launch and post-launch management, ensuring alignment with our business plan and U.S. regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership & Governance: Build and own the cross-functional bank implementation program, critical path, budget, and resourcing, directly supporting the Wise National Trust Leadership Team. You will establish program governance and reporting for executive sponsors, bank leadership team, bank Board, and U.S. regulators (e.g., OCC).

  • Supporting Regulatory Engagement: Coordinate the trust bank license application and charter operationalization and ongoing management, ensuring regulatory requirements and commitments are tracked, documented and defensible. You will prepare the organization for pre-opening examination and ongoing supervisory reviews, model validations and internal and external audits.

  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Stand up a program management operation to coordinate implementation of all bank functions, hold each workstream and functional lead accountable to timely delivery, escalate dependencies and blockers, prepare relevant management and board reporting to track implementation status and take direct measures with stakeholders to unblock and enable timely delivery of all milestones. You are responsible for a smooth and timely Day 1 delivery of the banks operations. 

  • Documentation and Process Management: Organize and support management of all cross-functional bank documentation and leadership processes including governance charters and minutes, policies, procedures, control libraries, audits, regulator examinations, intercompany agreements and affiliate oversight, maintaining the key records and documents in support of the banks’ management and regulatory requirements. 

Qualifications

What You’ll Need:

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline such as Finance, Business, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science etc.

  • 8-10 years leading large-scale programs such as bank, technology, or new business builds or regulatory programs such as exam or audit programs within the U.S. fintech, finance, technology, banking or consulting sector.

  • Expertise in Atlassian software, especially Jira and Confluence, with the ability to utilize these tools to develop timebound implementation plans, approval and escalation flows, dashboards and automated reporting.  

  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to align multiple types of internal and external stakeholders simultaneously, including workstream owners, bank leadership, Wise Group leadership, board members and regulators. 

  • Ability to manage financial aspects of a program including budget development, approvals and burn rates. 

  • A proven track record of delivering complex technology and business programs within a regulated financial services environment.

  • Expertise in structured program management, combining stage-gated governance with agile delivery.

Additional Information

Nice to have's:

  • PMP or similar program management certification is a plus.

  • Deep understanding of U.S. banking regulations, including experience with the three lines of defense model and resolution and recovery planning is a plus.
