The Senior Engineer is responsible for providing on-site technical support for AB Sciex range of mass spectrometers, including process optimization, qualification and/or validation, lead cost and quality improvement projects to drive down product cost and improve first pass yield and internal DPPM. He/She will also be the technical guru and provide mentoring to the engineers.
This position reports to the Director, Manufacturing Operations China and is part of the Manufacturing Engineering Team located in Beijing Changping and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Provide both on-site and off-site technical support to the production of AB Sciex range of Mass Spectrometer
- Perform process optimization, qualification or/and validation.
- Use of DFA and pFMEA principles to reduce manufacturing cycle time and improve product quality.
- Lead cost and FPY/internal dppm improvement projects.
- Product transfer support & ensure transferring of knowledge from other facilities on design, functional specifications, manufacturing line set up, processes, tooling, fixtures & other related areas.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical background knowledge with at least 5 years of working experience in manufacturing/lean environment
- Hands-on experience on assembly and alignment of precision parts, tolerance stack up, measurement of ‘micron’ parts, GD&T/MSA/pFMEA/DFA and with some material and systems engineering experience.
- Ability to work with people & lead activities/projects with cross functional groups, external vendors, suppliers and contractors independently and effectively.
- Positive attitude, open mindset and team player with effective verbal & written communication skills across all levels and function within a multi-disciplinary product development environment
