Job Description
Purpose
Senior Production Planner is responsible for ensuring efficient production processes within a manufacturing plant in Malaysia. This role involves coordinating production schedules, managing inventory levels, and optimizing resource allocation to meet customer demands while maintaining high service levels.
Responsibilities
- Data Management: Input and analyze data in SAP for Material Requirements Planning (MRP) based on historical consumption trends.
- Order Fulfillment: Release work orders to production based on customer orders, ensuring all sales orders are fulfilled timely.
- Monitoring Delivery: Oversee part delivery to meet A-B fill rate, collaborating closely with buyers to mitigate material shortages.
- SIOP Meetings: Attend daily Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) meetings to communicate urgent service requirements and material issues.
- Material Back-flash: Execute timely material back-flash processes to minimize production variances.
- Inventory Monitoring: Conduct weekly inventory assessments to ensure targets are met and maintained.
- Production Coordination: Ensure timely completion of work orders and coordinate the return of repaired instruments.
- Reporting: Handle administrative tasks including production reports, fill rate reports, and backlog reports.
- Collaboration: Work with production teams and business units to enhance order management processes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field. Diploma holders with extensive experience will also be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing planning and inventory control, preferably in a fast-paced multinational corporation (MNC).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems, particularly SAP.
- Familiarity with SAP MM, New Product Introduction (NPI), Engineering Change (EC), and logistics is advantageous.
- Good understanding of the full order fulfillment cycle.
- Proven ability to analyze material and capacity requirements effectively.
- Good problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrated experience in managing production schedules and inventory levels
